Hello

Of to Ireland next month. Normally I wouldn't need to be bothered about speed limits, signs etc as I'm usually going up North after departing Dublin Port and getting on the M1. However this trip I'm spending some time in Co. Cork & Kerry with lots of driving and I don't want to be attracting speeding fines. Yes I know that my car speedometer also dispays KPH. But its red on black and for me impossible to read. I could fabricate pointers using masking/electrical tape and I have seen plug in gadgets on Amazon etc.

Is there a better solution?

What about just setting Google Maps on your phone to show your speed in kph?

An 09 plate means nothing to me but may well to others. Any idea of the actual model? B9, M59 etc.

Sat navs display actual speed and potential speed traps
Amazingly they also can guide you to a given destination.

Or there are speedometer apps available for gps enabled phones.

For 09 plate B9, you can first set your phone navi to kph, then, if you want to use cruise control (Only Partner Tepee outdoor have this for 09, or if you fit one aftermarket) you can find the "MENU" button on your radio, the use the button at the right circle with a triangle arrow down, until the screen in the middle says something like or similar to "consumption unit" or something similar to that, then press the button with left or right arrow like a double triangle, the you can switch it from MPG to L/100km or km/L, then the cruise control and the odometer will be in KPH.
