Smelly exhaust?

I have a 2013 Berlingo 1.6 D gets a regular service at Citroen at least once a year , lately becoming smelly, I am concerned as the wifes Peugeot partner became smelly then bang the turbo went, I am at 120k now should I be concerned, she does go on an occasional long run 75 plus miles?

When you say smelly exhaust, do you mean fumes inside the vehicle? If so the likely cause [that is quite common on, not only PSA diesels but a number of diesel engines] is a leaky injector, quite often this is easy to spot by the build up of a tar-like substance around the base of the injector. Depending on how bad it is, sometimes it can be cured by just re-tightening the injector [make sure to tighten to the correct torque] but sometimes if it has got bad the injector needs to be removed new seals fitted and the area cleaned up before refitting.
