Hey lads just a quick one. How long for your local garage to do the clutch in a b9 berlingo 1.6 hdi? Garage here reckons 10 hours . About $2500 to do it including the clutch kit. Surely that’s not right is it?

It's an industrial-grade bitch of a job. Access is difficult, some of the assembly is plain insanity.
For example, go look where the starter motor is, then pasue for a moment to consider that there are bolts holding it in from both sides of the bellhousing. Even just reacing the connectors for it are a challenge.
Then pause to consider that there is a bellhousing bolt hidden behind the DPF, so you'll be removing large chunks of exhaust system to reach it.
And so on, and so on.

Edit Reason: Added exchange rate
)
I think Sol posted on here a while back about being quoted a high price for a clutch change on a B9, this was at his local garage, so he went to Mr Clutch or one of those business types, and got a much cheaper quote. I think he said he wouldn't normally use them, but the price difference was considerable, and if memory serves me correctly, I think he was satisfied with the job they did, though it would probably be worth digging out his old thread.
[Edit: This is the thread:
https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-20818.html - it wasn't Mr Clutch, though it was a guy who specialises in clutches. The price difference between his price (£350 four years ago) and what you've been quoted is massive (AUS $2500 = c.£1250)].
