Re the purchase price discussion... First post mentions possibly spending £30k on a petrol...
Everyone has their own views about new, nearly new or used but IMO worth noting that you can currently buy latest model (2024 facelift, 52 kWh batteries) electric ones with under 5000 miles in the top trim specs from £17.5k (Vauxhall), £20k (Citroen) or £22k (Peugeot) - links go to Autotrader.
At that point the worst of the depreciation seems to have already happened - looking at older ones, the cheapest e-Berlingos currently look to be around £14k with 50k miles (e.g. this one). Vauxhalls a bit cheaper, Peugeots a bit more... so they do lose a bit more over the years, but not crazy much...
IMO if you're not fussy about colour etc. then nearly new is the sweet spot at the moment.
