Rear view mirror
#1
This is about my 2023 EV Berlingo rear view mirror which is much more up to date than my diesel's.  I was adjusting it and it was really stiff so I was using a fair bit of wellie and it suddenly came away from the screen.  This in turn separated the halves of the cover behind it and it turns out just one of its many locating clips got broken. Sad   It looks like an arrowhead and goes into the electronic  box.

It looks like the mirror connects to the screen by inserting and turning clockwise - a bit like putting a bayonet bulb into a light.   Have I done that correctly because I think that it will come out again if I try to level the mirror.  I do not understand why the mirror was so stiff.  When it was off I could see the ball and socket were too tight and I understood why it came off the screen. Confused

Used to get that in the old ford escorts , try to adjust the mirror and it would fall off, the sticky pad on the windscreen gave way because the ball on the arm was too tight in the socket.

A cure? was putting some silicon grease on the ball and trying to work it in by turning the bracket, and a new sticky pad , not always successful

I had thought of spraying a touch of silicon.  While I had this all on the floor I copied an idea I saw on here and put a satnav up there.

I like the sat nav idea and if I hadn't fitted a Kenwood head with sat nav through phone I would have tried it.
