Wet belt recall service done...now i have engine errors!
#1
Hi there.
Don't know if it's just my crappy luck or if anyone else has had a similar thing happen..

Basically..
Was contacted by citroen in regards to needing the wet belt recall maintenance..
Check belt,  change oil and filter,  upgrade ecu.

I had it done by the local dealership yesterday and now my vehicle has engine errors on atartup.

Had no errors prior to going into dealership garage for the work to be done..

Had a local guy quickly check the codes thrown up last night.. see attached image..
But listed here...
B0221
B0222
U1213
U1FA0

Just wondering if anyone else has had such a thing happen after the wet belt ecu update, or can think why such a thing should happen??

I've contacted the garage who have suggested i pop back and they will have a look for me.  But its not close or convenient to get to,  or for me to leave my car there for any time as its needed daily for my work., but will have to see what they say i guess..
Just hoping anyone may have any idea why this should have happened??

Any thoughts?? other than my luck just sucks, lol.

Thanks in advance.

Has the screen been updated ? Mine was doing strange things like going blank & at last service it was updated & all good since. I would take it back to the Cit workshop that did the work though. Mine has specific booking times & will do work while I wait or go for a walk ie about 2.5hrs for last service. Perhaps yours will too ? Do they not have courtesy cars ?

They never offered such an option, (courtesy car) but in the end i was dealt with quite quickly.. I'll just have to float about on Monday whilst they have a mess i guess.

I generally do screen/satnav updates myself when available to download.. I'll check and see if there's a fresh update,  but in the summer i had a few issues with the screen locking up, but put it down to the heat at the time... haven't had any screen issues of late.

Screen issues are a minor annoyance,, my big engine warning is deffo my main concern.

Why is the cam chain issue now being called “Wetbelt”

Wetbelt ,as we all know is a Ford issue …both completely different .

The engine is used by a lot of car manufacturers, ie , PSA group , Ford, Volvo , and BMW . The mini has them

The op must have the 1.2 Puretech petrol engine which has the wetbelt. Camchain issue is with the 1.5 diesel.

Doh , I shall have to do my homework when I get time. I naturally assumed that these
issues occurred at higher mileage hence assuming it was a diesel issue.

I was one of the first to suffer the engine blow up at 120k , no assistance from Citroen who very kindly fitted a new lump which gave me nothing but trouble thereafter. gRRR !

Merry Xmas to all by the way !
