Mk 3 K9 blower not working
#1
Most threads here deal with M59/B9 Berlingo heater problems, typically caused by resistor pack failures. However, the K9 (Mark 3, 2018+) models use a different system with digital/electronic climate control.

I have a 2020 Berlingo K9 (UK RHD)
Heater blower completely dead on all speeds
Climate control display works normally, no error messages
Hear a brief mechanical sound (3 seconds) when system powers up
AC compressor seems fine

Cant find any diagrams of anything.

Fuses and relays in fus box seem OK.

Has anyone experienced blower fan failure on K9 models? because it has a climate control thing, it doesnt have these prone to failing resistors - So what is the most likely thing to fail?

Is there a 'control module' on the blower?
Where exactly is the blower motor control module located on K9 - attached to the motor or separate?
Would appreciate any K9-specific experiences or advice.

Not on a K9 but an earlier model a user with electronic climate control [it was offered on earlier Citroen/Peugoet models as an option in certain markets] previously reported 'On one of the Peugeot forums someone pointed out: there is no resistor on A/C model it has an electronic speed controller built into blower motor assembly'

So it may be the whole motor unit?

You definitely need some wiring diagrams though to check you have an actual input inot the motor assembly.

One other thing, have you used the blower/climate control recently? I ask as when my 'blower failed' my vehicle [a B9 model] had been sitting not used for a few months and I found the blower would not run and went down the changing resistor/realy route only to find the grease on the fan had dried up into a 'solid lump' preventing fan movement, so it might be worth trying to get the blower out to see if the fan freely rotates?

UPDATE
Had to get this fixed quickly. Found an auto electrician who diagnosed that the cutout relay adajacent the fan had indeed cutout (thermal overload I believe).  He removed the fan, and found out that a lot of leaf debris and various other muck was in the casing, which made the fan stiff to turn, which had triggered the cutout.  We replaced the fan (~ £200 for a non citroen version).  Could it have been simply cleaned out?  possibly.  Car in daily use, so decided not to take  the risk of failing again in winter with no heater and no front screen demist, and so bit the bullet.
Quite a few trees around the place where I park it. The air intakes are at the bottom of the windscreen, and which is where leaves collect in autumn.  So I reckon that somehow leaf debris is collecting around the bottom of the windscreen, and getting past any grid or mesh filters, and getting past any cabin pollen fiters (??) and finding its way into the fan.  Guess I need to pay more atteention to cleaning out debris from that area between windscreen and bonnet.
