Fuel prices
#1
The local Shell garage today has raised the price of Diesel to £163.9 per litre . Thanks Donald.

Last week it was about 139.9 a litre Diesel and the other local garage (VIP) is now 143.9 ,up about 5p per litre.

Guess where I'll be  getting fuel, about 7 miles down the road where it is now 139.9 up about 6p per litre from last week.

Saying  that,  the prices may have gone up again, these road tankers filling the storage tanks must be very busy, though I cant see shell  selling much at the moment

When the wholesale price of oil was coming down a couple of years ago, I distinctly remember fuel retailers saying that the reason their prices weren't coming down straightaway was because the price at the pump reflects what the wholesale price was when they bought the oil a few weeks before. Interesting. I suppose, being generous, the recent price rise might be due to a sudden demand increase from folks panic buying. Or maybe, being cynical, the wholesale-retail fuel price relationship is like a ratchet, and only works one way? lol.

Shell has risen the price to 169.9p a litre for diesel at a local garage, the other local prices are 149.9, 159.9.

I wonder why the forecourt was empty when I passed it earlier today.   Dodgy

I put a tankful of vpower in this morning £85
I notice the nearby tesco has 8 of its 12 pumps closed off
Apparently its a mechanical fault new parts have been ordered, rather than a shortage
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

The Shell local garage has risen the price to £179.9p a litre for diesel , and the oil price per barrel has dropped.

The forecourt was busy this morning , a fuel tanker was filling up their tanks.

Predominantly driving a plug-in hybrid now I'm not too concerned with direct fuel costs but it'll raise all prices eventually. My next/second vehicle will be fully electric anyway. First week of April driving has cost me a couple of coffees worth of electricity.

The ironic thing is overnight charging costs have dropped for me from £0.07 per Kw to £0.0349p. i am now in my second year running two electric vehicles My model X and my company Expert van and they now cost an 1/8th of what i was paying for derv two years ago just running one Berlingo.

Downside is, red diesel has shot up. Last 500 litres was £0.71p per litre, now £1.28p per litre - I can't see that coming down anytime soon.
