Air filter box removal
#1
Hi.
Bought an air filter for my car several years ago and have never been able to remove the box to fit it.
The car runs fine, but I would like to tackle it now.
The issue is that damn connector on the filter housing that I just cannot undo.
How on earth do these horrible things work, as the clips on either side do not want to push in, or pull out?
Cheers.

As above
Lift the lid and rotate it anticlockwise away fro the base if you would rather leave the wire in( mine doesn't have that one)
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

Okay. Finally got it removed.

As per annotated photo 1,
All of the parts marked with a red arrow need to be removed along with the electrical connector marked with 2 yellow arrows to show the clips you need to move.

The filter housing will not come off without removing all of these.

3 screws at the front edge.
The air hose connection* at the top right (also photo 2).
The large air inlet at the center right edge
The electrical connector next to it.

There are no clips to be removed on mine.

*To remove the air hose in 2, I used the tools in 3, hooking them into the plastic at the point shown by the arrow and levering the connector outwards.
It then slipped off without effort.
Pressing, gripping or trying to lever the grips elsewhere did nothing.

What an abysmal and unnecessarily difficult design.
