Fuel Injection Pump leak.
#1
I have just discovered that my Berlingo's Delphi Injection pump is leaking. It's dripping fuel out of the top cover of the fuel pump. Not a huge amount, but it's enough to notice. The car still runs fine, so it must be on the low pressure side of the pump. It is coming out of a shaft in the cover, so presumably the o-ring is failing. See photo

Can this be repaired in situ, or is it a replacement pump time :censored:

Hi, I had this on my old Mk1. Their are two o rings which need replacing. NOTE THIS IS A LUCAS PUMP!
Simple enough to do, 4 x T25 screws on the lid and a couple of 10mm nuts on top of the control levers. Make a note/mark the way the levers and springs come off the shafts as you can get the shafts 180 degrees out. The lever you want to get to should come off with the cover but the accelerator one will have to be pushed down through the lid.
Make sure you don't get any dirt in the bowl after the lid is removed as you are now in the pump!
Have a look at this old Lucas pump that I had.

This is the top removed showing the accelerator lever shaft with two o rings.

This is the lever you want after it has been removed from the lid.
The top o ring has been removed for measuring. My approx measurements were - 7 x 10 x 1.5mm (id x od x W)
Don't forget that your bowl will be full of fuel and may be still slightly under pressure. Let us know how you get on.
