Not on my Berlingo but on my son's 2005 VW Polo, where the headlamps had clouded so much, I was concerned it wouldn't get through an MOT. I used one of the many kits out there [I'll see if I can find which one, as I have the left over parts still in the garage] they are all pretty similar in that you have a grinding paste and then then after a lot of 'elbow grease' and cleaning you have a clear UV protective coating that is applied. The UV resistant clear coat is a very important part of the process in that a lot of clouding is from UV exposure. I think I ended up putting about four or five clear coats on [allowing it to properly dry between coats]

The lights were still crystal clear when he sold the car on a couple of years later.

An MOT advisory fault was a cloudy headlight , so I got a Holts Headlight Restoration Kit. It did the job and after 2 months its still clear even though I didnt coat the finished job with the sealer provided in the kit , will get round to it eventually,. It was easy to do with a small drill at low revs.

It also cleaned up the solar panel on a garden ornament quite nicely.

As a coincidence Ive just bought a Cerakote kit
Allegedly very long lasting.
My lamps are just starting to go champagne colored at the tops so hopefully it wont be to difficult.
Id like to have the lamps off to do it but Its major hassle getting the bumper off when your garge is the street outside the house
I also have to find a way of keeping the laquer dust and moisture free for 30 mins sfter application

As multspacer says they are all pretty much the same
You can get the sealer on amazon and 3000/6000 abrasive from paint shop suppliers.
Its then up to you how much effort you put in.

My van is so beaten up I really wouldnt bother but the mot inspectors at my chosen garage are the prissy sad mummys boys who spend all weekend detailing their car and seeing mine gets rhem quaking in their trainers.
They think they might catch something off it.Ive spent actual money on paint restorer and polish.
Those two items cost twice the price of an electric paint polisher OMG
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

Yes was advisory on my MOT as 'product on lens'. Not product numpty, its wear n tear, but knew they needed doing. Strangely, one is a lot worse than the other which might suggest one lens might been replaced at some point in the past.

lmao evdama... ooooh champagne coloured??... who you kidding??!! ha!

I did use a Holts kit, plus some additional abrasives. I found the original top layer on mine VERY difficult to cut through.

I also didn't bother with topcoat, though in the Holts kit it isn't a clear laquer, it's more like a spray on silicone, and the instructions state it's to be reapplied every few months. If they ever do fade I'll resand them and use laquer after the 3000 grit stage is finished.

I'm sure that Project Farm bloke did a comparison of a load of kits a while back.

In true 'Heath Robinson' style [apologies for younger members/people overseas who won't know what I'm on about  Smile ] when doing my son's headlamps, I made up a headlamp cover frame using wire coathangers and black bin bags to cover the headlamp assembly after the UV clearcoat was put on. Attatched to the vehicle with masking tape. Being black bin bags they absorbed the heat and worked like a mini-greenhouse drying out the coats really quickly and kept them dust free.
