[Brakes] Pinhole in Brake fluid reservoi-or pressure relief vent?
#1
Changed brake fluid / bled brakes on my M59 '07 Desire (85k) during routine service initially using pressure bleed kit and noticed pinhole spraying brake fluid from middle of top of plastic brake fluid reservoir. Is it ok for this hole be sealed with brake fluid resistant adhesive (or should reservoir be better replaced) - or is it actually not a hole but a pressure relief/equalising breather vent that should be left free?

There is breather hole in the brake fluid tank cap , if its not coming from there there is something wrong

Surely if its a pressure relief it should have some sort of valve or grommet not just a hole as that would potentially spill fluid or allow moisture into the system.
You could plug it with a small self tapping screw.
A jobsworth mot inspector might take exception to a repair though however well done.
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top
