Weird Air in Fuel Problem

Slow starts between 3 and 5 seconds - assumed blocked fuel filter as hadnt been changed for 6 years.
Fitted new fuel filter and started fine for the rest of that day and the following day, thought problem was solved, 2 days later took a while to start around 8 seconds, start after sitting for an hour. Starts instantly when cold or after a couple hours of sitting. If i try to start it within 20 mins to 1 hour 30 mins it would take around 6-10 seconds.
Mechanic thought it was the fuel filter - fitted another fuel filter and was fine again for 2 days then had same pattern, start. Not sure why its fine after the filters fitted and filled for a few days then gets worse, mornings and if left for a few hours it starts instantly. Priming made no difference

Disconnected fuel filter again from the big spigot (fuel in i think) greased o ring and sat it again, primed system with the bulb and drove it for 5 mins or so. Was starting instantly for a few days again.

Does that mean the issue is the quick connect letting in air before if after reseating it its now starting better again.

back to being fine once the quick connector for fuel in is unplugged and plugged back in for a few days, its very strange. Anyone got any tips? Its the early version of the B9 ordered a new fuel line how hard is it to do?

I Had an older Berlingo, those symptoms at the start but got worse over a few months.
Ended up removing the fuel tank to pull the gauge and screen on tank. It was fouled with a watery goo .. cleaned it and it ran perfect after for years.
I can only assume someone was filling it from drums or from a private diesel tank - might be worth to see can you blow back into the tank.
Sometimes its not always air in line problem.
