Fitting 2 plug towbar wiring kit supplied by Citroen
#1
Hi folks. First I'd just like to introduce myself to you all.

I'm Darren and I have just recently bought a 59 plate L1 850kg van.

My first job was to fit a towbar and I opted for the 2N + 2S wiring kit from Citroen (I have seen a few BIS failures!). I bought the kit from my local dealer and although maybe a little fiddly fitting no problems until I came to wire up the small fuse block which is in the glovebox. Now I have located the small multiplug which needs to be connected and the black wire which will be the live in to the fuseblock but I cannot for the life of me find the red wire which would then go aft to supply fridge +. The instructions seem to say these wires should just be in front of me (black and multiplug were) but for the life of me I can't see this red wire. I now have the whole glove compartment out and I'm ready to start lifting carpet and plastic all the way back in an effort to try and trace it.

Can any body shed light on where this wire might be hiding just to save me removing more carpet /trim!

Many thanks
Darren

Ok, so I have been meaning to update this thread for a few weeks now but unfortunately I'm working abroad so haven't had the opportunity.

After posting the initial thread I pulled up the carpets and removed all the trim down the passenger side and still couldn't find the red wire. I happened to be up by the way of the nearest Citroen garage so stopped in to pick their brains. Their lecky guy took it as a bit of a challenge and we spent 2 hours removing bits still to no avail! He also made a comment that said red wire might not be red at all!

To sum up I am going to run a 2.5mm red wire from the small ancillary fusebox that I fitted in the glove compartment to where the tow computer is in the back of the van. I'll then cut the red wire which is supposed to feed the fridge + on the socket and splice the two together.

The other bonus of the small ancillary fusebox is now I have four spare fused 12v feeds which to attach the likes of reversing camera etc.

All the best

Darren
