Help needed fitting Pure DAB radio
#1
Just about to embark on fitting a new Pure Highway 300Di DAB in our 2009 XTR. Didn't fancy paying Halfords 30 quid to hack my lovely B'lingo about so decided to 'do it myself'. Plan to use the aux in facility in the glovebox so shouldn't have to remove head unit, but wondered what the easiest/best way to connect it to power? (Pardon my ignorance but presumably the connector in the glovebox is for service diagnostics etc.)

Has anyone out there got one of these new-ish Pure 300Di DABs?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

you need to establish a clean suitable 12v feed and earth to power the unit, so you'd have to use a multimeter to find a good supply that is capable of taking the loading of the DAB unit and connect it up to that. Maybe £30 to halfrauds would have been well spent, cos if you blow anything or damage anything it will cost more than that to fix mate.....plus halfrauds have public liability insurance so would have paid out to rectify any errors had they made any mistakes. Auto electricians charge £45 and hour upwards and most repairs will take 2 hours or more considering the stripping down to replace burnt wiring in the harness etc, I have spent 8 hours replacing burned out sidelight wiring throughout the harness of a nissan primera - from an old lad connecting fog lamps to his sidelight circuit with larger fuses fitted.....he wasn't amused at the massive bill of £350....lol.

Not being negative mate but £30 seems to pale in significance to the potential problems you may face if you don't know what your doing.

couldnt you fit it with a 12v cigarette socket so that you can remove it when needed as you say it is going to be connected to aux socket so it isnt going to be hard wired into vehicles wiring anyway
