On a veh with 1000 miles on it this should not be happening. I cannot imagine that it has become clogged in such a short period.
Have your trip on the motor way and see what happens. If it doesn't clear it take it back to the dealer to find out what's happening? If you're not happy go to another dealer.
Whilst in diagnostic mode (ie with the laptop/pc plugged in to your veh), it is possible to "force" the veh to regenerate. It's not done regularly this way as it's pretty harsh on the veh. To cut a long story short it is similar to a blast up and down the motorwaywith the diagnostic software controling the engine until everything is up to speed and then starting the regeneration procedure but whilst the vehicle is stood still... lots of smoke, fumes and noise.
Please let us know how you get on.

It makes me seriously wonder about the competency of some workshops.
The DPF/FAP cannot be clogged in 1000 miles. The explanations given are comparable to the
"If it gets any worse bring it back and we'll take a look." variety and it simply isn't good enough.
A bottle of the DPF regen. fluid (Eolys) bought from a main dealer is silly money. I would have thought
that the least they could do would be to physically check the Eolys fluid level and also make sure that the
injection process is working.
So if they're content to do nothing, a quick phone call to Citroen HQ Customer Services may well be
in order.

I think this is the fluid that feeds the PDF.

The fluid reservoir/plastic tank is near the fuel tank and the main dealer
is probably not going to tell you where it is or what it does.
Rumour has it (The Pug. Forum.) that it takes about ten minutes to top it up
and is apparently 'a nice little earner ' for the dealerships! (Allegedly)

Hi, well we did trip, using computer in car I see we did 510 miles average speed 42MPH - in France we somehow did 90+ so car got good run and not one sign of warning. Smooth and easy to drive - I will see if warning comes back in next few days but so far it seems that it did what it said on the tin..

If you want to give your car a good run the M25 is the LAST place you want to take it tee hee.
My Mini Cooper D has the same engine and I got the warning light on a few months ago but a run to Glasgow sorted it out.
I don't know what goes on in the exhaust but a couple of years ago I had my bike on the back travelling down to Cornwall and when I got there my front bike tyre had a burnt patch and was deflated. Seems like some diesels have afterburner... Cool

Hi, know what you mean re M25 - do those average speed cameras really work? Anyway the light has not come on since France and so it seems that it worked..I would like to know more though - If light comes on again does that mean i have to go to France again??, or will 10 mts flat out do the trick? I got this off internet -
"A warning has been sounded over potential problems with new generation diesel engines.Leasing company Lex says drivers in urban areas are at risk over exhaust particulate filters (EPF), clogging up.
Some of the firms drivers are having to visit a dealership every six weeks to have filters unblocked - The problem occurs predominantly in traffic at low speeds, it adds. Lex says fleets can alleviate the potential problem by following the manufacturer operating recommendations. According to manufacturer guidelines, an EPF equipped diesel engine is likely to clog up unless it is operated at 50 MPH for at least 20 minutes - or covers 50 miles at motorway speeds at least once every couple of weeks.
These driving conditions burn off soot particulates the EPF has prevented from escaping into the atmosphere.
Lex say " if a driver knows that their car will spend most of the time in urban areas - at low speeds, then it's worth avoiding a vehicle with EPF"
so, now we know.
