P.D.F. warning light
#21
These problems shouldn't be happening with new generation diesels, they're designed to run clean and low emissions, but Citroen seem to have their fair share of problems with this p.d.f. warning light, but these aren't big capacity high peformance diesels. They're made for everyday use, you see endless amounts of Berlingos doing the school run, local shopping trips and taking the dog out etc., and they are somewhat undergeared imo anyway, cheap diesel has to be a factor, judging by all the crusty looking exhaust tail pipes you see.

Our's is now 8 months old, ran on BP Ultimate from the day we picked it up, no problems so far, interestingly we do the same journeys in a 2 ltr BMW diesel, which probably we run 10mph faster overall, but at a lot lower rpm in the given gear, and previously a 2.2 ltr Honda Civic, and neither of these had any problems whatsover, and all been ran on the same BP Ultimate, so it's got to be down to engine design, or poor fuel.

Thanks for that, very interesting. Frankly we were not aware it was a problem, not a word from Honda dealer, BMW or Citroen on purchasing, but luckily I don't think it's a problem for me, as 90% our use is a minimum 60 mile motorway run and that seems to keep 'em sweet, but still believe that cheap diesel can only increase the problem.Smile

Heard that the DPF fault-related warning being shown is becoming more and more of a problem lately

Got the dreaded DPF additive level low-related message,(p-filter add level low ), but got refilled swiftly. Recommended advice is to get topped up @ 80K miles regardless of usage
