You lot seem to have it in for Taunton, can't think why though, is there something odd going on around there?......amusing anyway & we all need a laugh from time to time!
I was once told that the only thing living in the Forest of Dean that had an IQ of 3 was triplets, but what is this Taunton thing?
I could carry on with my "I just dragged one back from Taunton story" if anyone wants to know, or I could just mention that sand from the Sahara has settled all over my new(ish) Blingo wot woz nice'n clean when I picked it up.
Life is hard....

Ooh errr, yew make oi laarrff..... as they say in Norfolk.
Anyway, this Bling thing wot I bought, might as well get it out of my system before I lock the doors & windows.....
Picked it up Tuesday lunchtime & headed back to Wales. A few miles on country roads before hitting the M5 in nasty rain. On the country roads it felt quite pleasant but I thought that it was a bit slow until I glanced at the speedometer. Having settled on to the M5 things became more impressive; despite the wind & rain it sat there at speed feeling very relaxed, stable & comfortable, I could have almost been in my lovely old Xantia estate. There's a sort of understated power with this car although I know that with 90bhp it's no tearaway.
Getting in and out of the car is very good - I have arthritis in both hips & frequent sciatica so the high seat position makes getting in & out much easier. On the Xantia I used to raise the suspension for every entry/exit; thats' all very well but it burns extra diesel.
Back in Penarth I tried some around town driving and this is where it got a little disappointing. It really does feel a bit "lumpy" but I have to remind myself that I no longer have the oil & gas suspension of my previous Citroens.
The visibility is excellent all around and it's a bit like the Tardis; looks small on the outside but step in and it feels a lot bigger.
Although I have only covered 140 miles since Tuesday, I am starting to like this little fellow and have put myself in a mind set that says "no this is not a Citroen like the ones I had in the past, this is a van with windows & it reminds me a little of being in a 2CV again". I'm happy with that & I think my appreciation of the beast will grow. However, the sound from the radio cassette (yes, cassette player) is bleedin' awful, and as a former sound engineer it is an assault upon the ears! Sounds like medium wave radio, oh dear....
Already I have come up with some questions & alas a problem with the nearside electric window. Will post these on the relevant page in the forum if I can't get any joy out of the Haynes manual.
One thing amused me though.....on the way back I used the rear washwipe & saw a splatter of water near the bottom of the rear window. I'll adjust the nozzle when I get back I thought, it needs to be firing further upwards. And then I discovered how it works, firing the water jet into a little cup recess to be spattered back on to the screen. Ah well, different.....
Me & my dog Like this Blingo, they're ok aren't they ???

Cheers for that Ron, wish you & dogs many miles of pain free driving. Monmouth based I see, not so far from Penarth & on a well trodden route for me over the years.
