if you do manage to get one wont it need coding to your car as well by someone with the correct tools/diagnostic etc.

Unless you get a recon from somewhere like BBA Remanufacturing in Rochester then any second hand BSI will need coding or 'virginising'.
At least this is what I've been hearing over the last several months.
If someone has a BSI problem on an old van it's likely that the cost or availability of a BSI is the reason that the van is for sale.:S
