Which one shall i buy??

Ok,

Ive decided to get myself a berlingo or partner as my car is just not fit for purpose. And will my hobbies and interests a van will be much suited, (camping, bikes, dogs, climbing, traveling europe, ect)

I do about 100 miles a day to work, sat at 65mph so i dont want anything thats too powerfull and thursty.

I would like the most reliable engine going. NO dmf egr dpf ect.... i just want to chug along no frills happy motoring/ toring.

Do they come with cd air cone as standard? do they have trip computers?

whats the difference between 600kg 800kg LX ect.....??

Ive been looking at one with a sliding door (for camping)

About a 55 plate 56 plate below 60k or lower.

So with a little digging ive decided on the 2.0 hdi engine, aroud a 55 56 plate.

I have about 3.5k.

So i am on the right track, anything i should know in terms of common faults?

Sorry to batter you swith so many questions but iam keen to go and buy one and get motoring!

When I was looking around for a van I found the Partner's to be better equipped the Berlingo's, my 600 LX Partner has RCL, CD, Electric windows and overhead storage as standard. Luxuries such as trip computers and AC are limited to the car versions though I think?

Ive seen a few with AC but they are few and far between. Ones with side loading doors are tricky to find.

I went to drive a 2.0hdi and the thing flew along, seems to have more than enough poke

If you want a sliding door you would be best to go for a Multispace. As you have found vans are rare.
If you want the most reliable engine a 1.9D is it...slow but looked after will go round the clock a couple of times.
The 2.0 HDi is a lovely engine and there are a couple in AutoTrader.
The 1.6HDi early 2006 and before had no DPF (FAP) all have CATs.
Any car that you look at should have a Main Dealer service history or you have no guarantee that servicing has been
correctly carried out.
If you can live with a petrol engine then the 1.6 is favourite.

Thanks i see, so how bad is the 1.9 na is it as bad as a t reg 1.25 zetec petrol??

Go for the 2.0HDi

Desire spec often have AC option and xtra airbags

the 1.9 is a bulletproof slug by comparison.

Check out the rear swing arm bearings, they have no grease points. Tyres often spread at around 120000 miles.

The 2.0HDi is a class act with poke a plenty.

Isn't north Wales a bit hilly? There will be a lot of gear changing with a naturally aspirated (non turbo charged) engine.

Another vote here for a Multispace.

-sliding doors as standard
-rear and passenger seat can be removed in minutes if you really need all the space
-Likely to have lead an easier life than a van
-Higher spec
