How easy is it for an old fart, say for instance somebody like myself with back problems etc, to swap the clutch cable on the berlingo mk11????.
The gearbox end is easy to access, as is threading the new cable through the bulkhead, the bit that is a daunting prospect is getting in at the pedal end. I know it is only a simple clip-on arrangement but for me to gain access is a bit of a problem with back trouble and working with my arse above my head....

They are easy to change. No tools required on the mk 2's i've owned. Some people seem to have trouble with the pedal end but I've never found it an issue. If you have a dodgy back it might be easier to get someone to do it for you like a family member etc. Just be careful of the routing and resecuring. Ive used pattern cables from my local factors and they've been fine.

I too find the clutch pedal stiff on my 2.0HDI, 2003 model with 59K miles. The clutch has an auto adjuster according to Haynes manual.
There is a fair bit of free play at top of movement (haven't measured it yet) and the clutch starts to bite fairly soon when letting the pedal back up. Does this sound normal to those of you who own 2.0 HDI's?
One petrol model I tried was very light on the c-pedal.

Even with a new clutch on my 1.9TD Xantia I thought the pedal was fairly stiff so perhaps this is a Citroen diesel/clutch anomaly.
My sympathies to andy-womble regarding reference to back trouble & having to be a contortionist; with arthritic hips and sciatica this old fart is not the mechanic he used to be. It's ok doing a job but hell you pay for it later, used to do lots of work years ago Citroens... GS, DS, 2CV, CX, BX, Xantia.
Being new to Blingo World, is my 2003 model a Mk 2 or what???

Thanks O'l Jeffers, was almost sure it was & bu***r me the driver's side electric window mechanism has just self destructed.
