Hi everyone just thought I would say hello Ive just aquired an 08 berlingo 1.6hdi and I am well pleased with it so far. Its got a few minor issues with it and Im working my way through them but nothing major. Given it a service and a once over and had to replace top part of heat shield around exhaust the part that bolts to the head. One mounting had broken clean off and the other had 5cm stress cracks. I made a bracket to support bottom of shield as it seems to have cracked behind cat to. Got a wobbly air box to which seems to be caused by missing grommets. On its first tank of derv it did 58.5mpg so I am chuffed.
As a side issue what grade of oil are you guys using in your 1.6hdi.
I used fully synthetic 5-40 but after reading the threads on turbo failure It got me thinking as 5-30 is mentioned in a lot of posts.

Hi & welcome.I use 5-30,but I think 5-40 should be OK.The book says 10-40 semi-synthetic is approved so 5-40 is a better spec than that.(being a fully synthetic).

To cut down the wind noise when the window is open slightly Ive fitted some tinted Heko wind deflectors. Easy to fit work a treat and look smart to boot, problem solved.

The deflectors are brilliant -also visoring off low sun at junctions.
Is yours a car or van ?
Blur out the reg and post some pics.
You have a good allocation of space waiting for you in the forums GARAGE section.
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top
