Hi all

The stealer wants £100 to activate the aux in and fader controls on my bosh RD4 stereo, I was thiking a better option may be to replace the head unit with a pioneer unit.
Does changing the stereos on this fancy canbus systems play havoc with anything and what if any functinality may I lose from the van?

You can't adjust the clock. You can't use the steering column controls without a £45 adapter.. I put a kenwood Bluetooth stereo in mine solely for the phone kit, big mistake, the call quality was garbage and it needed the pin code putting in to link up every morning. Kenwood technical help is none existant. I use bluetooth on the Tom Tom now.
My advice would be to stick with the factory fitted and google for set up info.

too late.
I bought a JVC headunit with a rear aux in connector.
Then I replaced the front door speakers with FYi 6" items.
Then I installed a pair of FLi speakers in the rear and cabled up to the head unit.
I hooked my Parrot MKi 9200 up to the head unit via tha aux in to bypass the rubbish parrot amp and allow the stereo to do the amplification.
Result = excellent. the Parrot connection is not as slick as it could be as I have to ensure the stereo is set to the aux in to make or recieve calls but its not bad at all and a sound clarity and quality is a mile apart from OEM.

I have noticed that the clock will not change automatically and the stalk doesnt work. No problem I will refit the OEM head unit when the clocks move and I never used the stalk anyway.
