Alarm no deactivating

Hi all

I have a 2001 panel van, I have one key with no remote facility.

All's been ok for 2 years locking and unlocking manually, now the van locks ok alarm is active ( small red light on flashing )

Now half the time when I unlock the van manually which i have always done the alarm is not deactivating and the red light stay on also if I open the doors the alarm goes off.

Help needed, as I need the van daily.

Hi, have you tried opening your van via the passenger door? does the alarm turn off with this? cratch:

What make of after market alarm is it? If it's a cheap and cheerful type which can be fitted by almost any auto-electrician
then that's who you're going to have to find.
If it's an up-market brand like Toad you'll have to find a specialist for that type of alarm. tudy:
Many of these alarms have anti-tamper immobilisers. :brickwall:
It sounds as if the drivers door sender/switch/sensor is at fault or it could be the main unit or the wiring in between.
