[Engine] relacing the starter

hiya lads ,the starter motor has started messing about on my mk2 1.9d van

sometimes just get a whirring sound,sometimes it starts ok buy dont sound right doing it

whats involved if i have to change it? is it a DIY job

i did try the search function,cheers boys ,steve

It can be akward but DIY able. it better to remove from underneath which means jacking up or on ramps and getting access that way.

thanks mate ,it been ok the weekend so hopefully ill be able to bury my head in the sand a bit longer:lol:

I've replaced mine on my 1.6 petrol model twice.

It's just 3 bolts to remove and then make sure you wire up the same on the connectors.

Mine was tucked in below, but I managed to do it from above as below looked no easier!!
