MK2 Headlight Beam Adapters

I've looked online both in the forum and generally for any info on the placement of beam adapters for the Berlingo MK2 headlights and can find nothing. Nowt in the handbook either. I know that there is some correspondence that says they may not be needed in some cases, but I don't fancy arguing the toss with the gendarmerie - especially with Wiggins having won the Toure de France :lol:

So....any clues please folks?

Thanks Martin. Actually, that's not a bad deal on Ebay except I've already sheeled out on the breathalyser kit, and have a magnetic GB sticker (unless it disappeared when the fridge-freezer died, as that was where it lived when not in use).
I've read a few reviews of the stick-on converters offered by Halfords. Some people loved them, others found then a pain. Some found them difficult to even get out of the packaging intact, while others found they fell off in use. Some found they left a layer of adhesive on the headlamp.
What I'd like to do is to find a definitive answer as to whether BY FRENCH LAW I must fit them whether the vehicle manufacturer says so or not. If I really DO need to fit them I will, but otherwise I might take a chance. I've even asked my local Citroen dealer and he says the position is confused. Certainly confuses me!

There was a thread on here a few weeks back about this, sorry I cannot recall it's name. I did not take much notice as I dont drive on the Continent any more. I think that Citroen said they were not required? A search of the forums may assist you.

Well, I've given up fellas. There seems to be more online information suggesting that you do need beam converters, than t'other way around, so in the absence of a definitive answer I shall go out and spend some beer tokens on them. As to where I should stick them.....:censored:.....that's another question. Hopefully it will tell me somewhere on the packaging.....

Beam deflectors are required, but you can get away with it by adjusting them to the lowest setting.Big Grin
Providing the motors still work. :censored:
Spain is a bit stricter, so I put tape over the lenses in the correct place (hard to do unless you have a wall to aim the lights at.
Whaddamistakatomaka.
Upon removing the tape today I discovered the lenses have crazed with the heat/glue. So I now need 2 new headlights:brickwall:

I'd be seeing if you can buff them and cover with one of the headlight protector films. Pattern headlights are not likely to be so durable, and OEM are expensive.

I do quite a bit of driving in France and have in the past bought beam deflectors. No longer. I have found that it is very easy to adjust most headlights to the straight ahead position then, as Fret says, use a low(ish) position with the headlight motors. I have never had a problem with this method. The problem is not with the Gendarmerie, who are generally very tolerant with foreign drivers, but French truckers who, understandably, don't like to be dazzled and let you know with a salvo from the 46 lamp units mounted on their cab, if you are careless enough to get it wrong!
