New Pair of Shock Absorbers
#1
Hello!

We need to replace our front struts on our Berlingo 1.6 Diesel.

I checked the forum, but I'm still wondering if Sachs absorbers are really a way better than others.

Any advice from those who replaced their struts would be appreciated.

Besides, could anyone advise please as per where do you buy new auto parts online? Eurocarparts looks fine, but they don't seem to have absorbers that fit our car.

Many thanks in advance.

Thank you for heads up! However they don't seem to have shock absorbers for us - or at least in stock.

So we keep looking.

By the way, does anybody know of a resource where we can enter OEM art no of a detail and receive a list of equivalents from manufacturers like Sachs, Monroe, Bilstein, etc.

Some web shops have this reference, but only when I see a detailed description of a particular item. But what would be real cool is to have a list of equivalents when searching by original detail number. Maybe some sites can do that?

You might try here. Don't know if they list equivalents or not though.

Actually we need an equivalent of a part number 520881. Maybe somebody here encountered the same need to replace this detail - and found the decent equivalent from Sachs, Bilstain, Monroe, etc? Your advice would be much appreciated.

Okay, as the search progresses, my initial question becomes modified.

So, I found an equivalent from Monroe, G7323.

But still I am looking for equivalent from Bilstein. Do they have an equivalent for Berlingo New at all? Their catalogue: http://web1.carparts-cat.com/default.asp...52=1&30=21

does not suggest any struts for Berlingo New.

Hmmm.... Does anybody here driving B9 find a use of Bilstein shocks?

And another question appears: those who use Monroe shocks, are you happy with them? Ol'Jeffers, you gave me the link to their shop - do you find their struts real fine?

Alesya,I used Monroe shocks many times when I was in the motor trade & had good results with them.Sachs shocks are also v good so unless you are looking for upgrading fit them if they are easy to get.
