Hazards Flash Engine Won't Start
#1
Hi
I have a bog standard 2001 1.9D Berlingo Multispace.
When I insert and turn the ignition key the hazard lamps flash and the engine turns over but will not start. I noticed that the engine management lamp is illuminated and that the hazards continue to flash when the ignition is turned off and the key removed.
I wondered if it was an immobiliser issue and I've tried my other key but to no avail.
Any ideas folks?

Hit any potholes on the way home? Could be the fuel cut off switch needs resetting. Not sure where it is found on that engine but open the bonnet and have a look, should be red, just push the button down to reset.

Edit: If the issue is with the Immobilizer, you could try a BSI reset procedure

Interesting article at http://www.berlingoforum.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=3222

I have a Mk 1 1.4 and the problem was the front o/s spring had broken, impact of the spring hitting the bodywork shut the fuel off.
Probably different on the diesel but worth seeing if noise on full lock when you can as that made a loud noise that made me get it in for a quick replacement.
