[SOLD] EV Berlingo
#1
Hi all,

Here's an interesting eBay auction:

Electric Berlingo Link

Almost quite tempted myself. But alas in Brum I'd have quite severe problems trying to get the thing charged.

Also, the vendor has been very honest about the state of the cells/batteries, so I bet these might be quite expensive to service and/or replace.

Anyway, just thought it might be an interesting start to this section

Where do these conversions take place? (I have no idea). And what sort of engines are they run on, i know he mentions cells, but id love to know more: power output, acceleration, range etc.

Very interesting listing, thanks for posting.

About batteries:
"The traction battery is made up of 27 monoblocs of 6 volts 100 Ah. The 27 monoblocs are divided up into 4 compartments as follows :  One compartment located in the centre of the vehicle, under the floor, containing 11 monoblocs (1)  One compartment located low down at the front, in the motor compartment, containing 6 monoblocs (2)  One compartment located at the rear, under the floor, containing 6 monoblocs (3)  One compartment located high up in the motor compartment, containing 4 monoblocs (4) The battery packs are connected in series by means of an electric circuit and they make up a 162 volt battery. In order to prevent any excess amperage or "cutting off of the electrical chain" of the traction battery, each compartment has a fuse at its positive terminal and a shunt at its negative terminal."

About engine:

DC engine. 15KW

Electric Berlingos were built by Citroen & supplied as new vehicles, I think. They were using these at a large campsite I go to in SW France a few yrs ago but only for couple of yrs tho.

Hello all (first post here)

Everything you ever wanted to know about the 1996-2005 Berlingo Electrique is over at the Battery Vehicle Society forum, which was originally created for the Berlingo electrique before expanding to cover the rest of the Society's activity. (I am a moderator there, as well as being the owner of a modified Electrique myself. I came here looking for suspension info to cope with the extra batteries I intend to fit for 300 mile range.)

Hope that helps.
