Towbar Wiring

Hello All

I am attempting to fit the wiring for my towbar - I have the genuine Citroen towbar wiring kit and the final stage is to cut the permanent 12v supply wire (number B08N) from the bunch of wires which run along the offside.

There are a number of wires here and I cannot see B08Nmarked on any of them.

Would anyone happen to know which wire is the parmanent supply on the MK2 Berlingo Multi - or an easy way to identify it?

Does this mean the best course of action is to take a permanent live from the battery direct? Is this simply running a cable to the + cconnection on the battery?

Or does anyone know is I can take a feed from the BSI unit?

Any help appreciated.

Bryce - youre probably best to search the forum for "towbar"
Some members have gone down the Genuine part route and have made posts about it

Most of us however fit aftermarket units that take a more 'direct' approach with wiring

Thanks evdama - tonight I noticed that although the hazards and the open/close indicators work, the actual indicators don't since fitting the tow bar electrics (and failing to sort the permanent live) So, in desperation I bought cable and linked the cable on the wiring kit to the + on the battery - hey presto indicators back to normal.

I have now started the task of routing the cable from the rear offside light to the battery - this has went well and was quite easy - now just need to put the various bits of trim back tomorrow.

I was clinging onto hope I didn't have to go down that route.

Fuse at the battery!-Im sure you will have that already covered but some dont
You can get some neat inline holders that take mini-blade fuses-you will always have a spare then.

What are you towing if you dont mind the asking?

Hi - nope not covered at all. Can you send me a link to what you mean and what the fuse thing looks like? I'm pulling a trailer back and forth to the dump - house renovation project.

The battery is capable of pumping some serious amperage -you have to protect your wiring.
Fuse Holder
You will probably get a better price on Ebay.

Cut the red lead in the middle then put one end to the battery and the other to your wiring.
Takes the same type of fuse as the others on your Blingo

No need as the vehicles own fuse will cover this.

You are both confusing me now! cratch:
Why are you running a permanent live?
If the electrics are single (12n) you are only connecting to the rear lights.
The second auxilary (12s) socket is for supplying power to a caravan (battery, fridge, etc.) and a 12v feed with fuse and special relay is needed.
If you are only towing a trailer you only need the lighting.
