So how does my car run now?

It' s almost a month since I had my MkII 1.6HDi 'chipped' by Nick from
Cit-Tech ( http://www.cittech.co.uk/ ) using the Quantum 'Blue' map.

The car is a little better on day to day fuel consumption and will now happily drive at 30mph in 5th. Accelerating from 60 to 80 is nicely brisk and overall I'm happy to have spent the money. I haven't yet done a 200 mile plus trip but I expect a good result judging by the results thus far.

Do you get a choice of mapping/behavior -is it adjustable ?
Also did you declare it to the insurance vampires -did they want much more dosh for the mod?
Im thinking of doing this mod-I beleive the factory spec 1.6 HDi75 is detuned and has a lot of potential.

Mines a 1.6 92bhp model. I would have thought that a re-map on a 75 would be very worthwhile as long as the rest of the engine and running gear is the same.tudy:

For many years, I thought about getting a remap. I was saved by the fact that I drove an ordinary petrol car with no turbo.

Then we got our 1.6 HDi 90 Berlingo, and temptation came my way. In the end of the day, having done my research, I decided not to. But the temptation has never completely disappeared . . . .

And I have one of my own: How does the remap affect the sound the engine makes? I'm sure I recall hearing that the engine became noisier or less refined or something.

There are three available maps. See here for details http://quantumremap.co.uk/ The Blue map is what I have.
The engine sounds quieter generally especially at everyday cruising speeds.
The car was bought third hand and as this particular re-map leaves no physical trace
with no user adjustment or third party boxes, it must have been done by a previous owner.
I'm just a Mr. Average car driver and I just wouldn't know. The difference is not black and white.
But the car is much nicer to drive. The re-map is not detectable unless the vehicle is put on a
dynamometer. The actual power gain is quite modest but the torque....Ohhhh!!....The Torque!
Up from 215Nm to 280Nm the lower/mid end of the rev range has been transformed.
I'm wondering just how many second/third/more owner Berlingos have had ECU re-maps
and then have been sold on? Did the seller remember to tell the new owner about the mod?
