My tractor,MF135 wouldn't start on Saturday
She would crackle into life with some Bradex down the snout but then stop again.
Odd because it was running fine last week .
Tried everything until the battery was exhausted.
No dice mister.
Recharge the battery overnight and ,as all else has failed, RTFM
Has to be a fuel supply problem -plenty of Rose' in the tank,the tank tap is fully on,the primer pump has pressure.Must be the filters blocked
The F'Manual is for the sixties models- beautiful illustrations of nice new tractor anatomies.
My beast is is a mid seventies one,different filters,an aftermarket glass cab obstructing them and everything scabby with rust.Then Id have to bleed the system which can be a nightmare.
Sat in the cab and thinking-with daylight at a premium ,the beast out in a muddy field ,and all the other hassles I'm not sure I can cope with another monkey on my back.
Thinking the unthinkable-get someone out to fix it.
Someone who actually doesn't mind going home caked in mud, oil and stinking like a refinery.
Then it struck me .
Well it struck my left kneecap actually.
The fuel cut-off pull

I cordially invite everyone else to cough up some gems of their own -or do I have to run through my entire back catalogue...

Rebuilt my Mini engine few years ago, spent a week trying to start it then found the distributor rotor in my overall pocket

Talos -as a pup I did a similar thing with a brass float valve from a moped carb -put in in my back pocket for safe keeping -while I sat down for lunch....

Haha have done the same thing on more than on occasion on many different tractors.

Mine was a bit more ouch than yours,

Back just over 20 years ago when I was working on a farm when breakfast time came so in a rush to unhitch the mo-co I pulled the pto off and pulled the hydraulic pipe then the drawbar pin.

Uh oh oooooooooooooouch. I didn't drop mower on the floor, It rolled back and landed on my foot.

I was off work for 2 months with 4 broken bones in my foot.:brickwall:

Ive dropped artic trailers without the landing gear illyme:driven off with the air lines still hooked in (you dont get far afterwards),and tried to hitch one where the pin was wound too high and rode right over the turntable and crunched the headboard into the cab.:censored:
I the got the controls on a Bobcat mixed up so it pushed its own body vertical .I was hung from the seat harness because all the petrol had trickled down my neck as the engine cut out
