Hi all,what have i done,i have just bought a 2000 1.9d forte 5door with 138000 on the clock,seems in good condition,seems sluggish after a 306 hdi but to be expected,new clutch last year,i will change oil and filters next week,paid £675 is that a good deal?what sort of milage are these engines capable of if looked after and what sort of things should i check over

They are capable of interstellar miles if looked after.At that age I would check/change everything,brake fluid,coolant,all filters & transmission oil.
Check/change cambelt if history not certain(incl w/pump.
That way you know for certain what's been done.Valve clearances should be ok,but worth a check.

Thanks very much for that Ron i will be dropping the engine oil and changing filters tommorrow,i noticed it has a lucas fuel pump,are they as good as the Bosch one do you know?
