[Engine] 05 Berlingo , no start after crank shaft pully change
#1
Hello all
i think this is my first need to post as usually i can find answers from other posts, this site is very handy, anyway
a friend of mine who drives a 2005 turbo berlingo, im not sure if its 2ltr or 1.9ltr but my launch x431 master works with it under the siemens option.
he changed the crank shaft pully and since then it wont start,
i read codes off it and this is what showed

-cylinder reference short circuit between two wires, open circuit or no signal, permanent fault (is this a cam shaft sensor?)

and

fuel pressure signal pressure coherance ,permanent fault

when i clear them they come back on after cranking the engine, again the engine wont start, it will fire with easy start, there is no real pressure at injectors only a mere dribble,
glow plugs dont work until the engine is turning
interior fan doesnt work
i hope i havent made anyones eyes bleed reading this
also my friend disconnected the battery at some stage during repair
i did try the bsi reset but only once
many thanks

Hi, check the camshaft timing, Check the cylinder ref sensor which is located on the cam shaft pulley.

Hey rustscrat, do you know what readings i should get on a resistance test on the three pins on the camshaft sensor, and what voltage i should get on the supply plug pins, and supply pins to the crank shaft sensor ? the crank shaft sensor itself read 400 ohms,
thanks

Sorry I can't help you with that one. It will probably be some kind of semiconductor device so you will be best off trying a replacement one.Confusedalut:

The sensor will almost certainly be the inductive type and there is a smashing test on YouTube which explains exactly what you want to do.

new cam pulley and she's firing first turn of the key for the first time in 2 months so thought i would report back if anyone has this trouble in the future, the cam pulley and crank MUST be changed over if fitting an engine with the different engine code
