Its now official, I'm now a Berlingoee.
Well after a 14 hour bus journey via London and Glasgow I'm now the proud owner of a 09 Metallic Silver 1.6Hdi Xtr Berlingo.

First impressions after the first 450 miles is Fantastic, Its comfy, Roomie, Good vis-ability, Quiet and nice and easy to drive.

About the only thing I can really think of is 2 things that grate,

One, Cant see the bonnet.
Two, Pedals are a bit small for big size 10 feet but I nearly always drive in me slippers so this might not be such a problem.

I do have a question, There is a net thing rolled up in the boot, What is it and how does it attach to whatever.

Photos to follow tomorrow.
Congrats :woop:
It had better serve you well after a journey like that to get it
Looking forward to pics , nice one
The net is a load retainer that goes behind back seats to allow you to load back up to the roof. It can also be used in the forward position with rear seats folded. You may have interior roof bars in place, remove these to locate top of net in either forward or rearward position. the bottom of net hooks into place & is tightened up.

Thats a long way to go to buy a car but at least you are now used to driving it. Big Grin

Could be a load retaining net which fits like a dog guard above the back seat.

Stupid computer!

Well I am now going to moan about my Berlingo,

After having to give it a good clean inside and out a couple of things stand out............!!

1, The quality of the plastics, I.e Those stupid Floor bins. I ask you what a STUPID idea in a STUPID place.

2, It sounds unbelievably tinny when shutting doors.

3, Don't like the broken arm rest on the passenger seat.

But, I like the idea of the torch in the boot, Size of Boot. The 3 single rear seats are Fab but don't like the back of the middle seat and when I took that plastic moulding off I was staring at holes in the back seat so had to put it back on.
Like the big storage bin between the seats as well. Stupid place to put the jack and tools under the seat, My jack is almost seized solid with rust!!!

But on the whole I like my Berlingo and am really glad I bought it BUT it feels Cheaply Made.
Why is the jack so rusty when it is stored INSIDE the car?
That doesn't sound good.Confusedcratch:
Mine lives behind drivers seat (van) and looks like brand new after 5 years.
Well to be quite honest, I think generally they're put together fairly well, the body panel fit, paint finish is to a decent standard for a vehicle of that price. I had a Honda Civic new in 2009, and I can tell you the paint finish and quality, especially inside the doors, is far better on the Citroen. On the Civic, the roof is so thin it used to flex up and down when washing it over with a sponge, we had the tail gate come out of line at 4,000 miles and didn't find the seats very comfortable, and lousy vision. The only thing I would have liked to have taken from the Civic and put into the Berlingo, was the sweet 2.2 Turbo diesel and the six speed box.

The rusty jack would concern me as well. Why is it rusty, maybe it was put away after use wet? I would check the jack cubby hole for damp though.

I find the quality of the plastics in the Berlingo not bad for what it cost. The storage bins in the floor I keep a small air compressor and cleaning stuff and yes the clips are broken but with the weight of the rubber mats they don't move about. The jack under the drivers seat is easily accessible slide the seat forward and there it is same as the wheel wrench.
I looked at the VW Caddy as I was wanting to change my car in March, yes the VW has a better plastic dash but I can't justify paying £20k for it the Berlingo has more space. I have complained in the past about the rattles, what I paid for it I couldn't have got anything better. £12500 and that was new.

I paid £13,000 for the XTR 110 otr no px, and can't say there's any rattles, the most annoying thing on it is, turbo lag.
