Some of the roads were sealed off and the buses redirected here in Stoke today due to the Tour of Britain Cycle Race so I took a taxi ride into town today....

Hey ho, what turned up to collect me.....

A Peugeot Partner Mk11 Multispace or whatever the Pug equivalent is.

To be fair, the old girl looked a bit battle scarred and tired and had a few suspension knocks and rattles, didn't get the reg but the driver told me it was a 1.9 straight aspirated engine and it had done in excess of 300,000 miles (yes it is written correctly) so quite impressed by that....

That is impressive - not sure it would have been the same story with a DV6 lump in it.
Or was it more a case of "Ive had this broom thirty years -its had 5 new heads and three new handles..."

Now you mention it, the driver did look a bit like Trigger off Fools and Horses....

No reasons to lie to me so presuming that the guy was not shooting me a line in bullshit...

Not sure if the guy is an owner/driver employed by the taxi firm, their base is not far from my house so I will keep a look out for the vehicle. One thing I did notice was that the clutch had a bit of a judder and came in with a bit of a bang but I suspect that that has had some hammer/mileage bestowed upon it...
