Hi just a quick addition to Lloydyboy's post, I had exactly the same fail on my mot and same fruitless search for the spring, just to let you know the guy in the Ebay link that makes the springs is very helpfull and sent spring by return next day. The spring looks nothing like the one in ebay picture but still does the job and is stainless steel too.
but it is a complete XXXXXXXX to fit unless you have three hands and 8" long fingers which are only as thick as a pencil and one has a 10mm ratchet spanner on the end

(This post was last modified: 19-09-2015, 05:15 PM by jonnie100.)
All that's required is for both rear wheels to be grounded and no extra load in vehicle.
Make sure the load sensor 'arm' moves freely back and forth, use wd40 for lubricant. I then just fitted spring and threaded nut about halfway down rod, then put wheel back on and lowered van and removed jack.
Crawl under rear of van and continue threading the nut until up against sensor 'arm'. The final position for the arm is to be just touching the sensor unit with no play back or forth.
Job done.

Very helpful thread this.
£22.00 for a spring is steep though.
