Springs rated
#1
My 625 has coloured dots on the springs -Im guessing its a rating code.
The lowest coil has three dots - red green and orange while the second one up has a single white dot.
Anyone with a 750 or 850 know what their dot colours are for comparison-
I wonder if the extra payload capacity is purely from spring rating as opposed to other suspension parts or chassis mod
If that's the case then the uprated springs are pretty expensive.

What do you car boys have, btw.

Also any experience of the Grayston rubber spring assisters on a MK3?
I had a set on a MK3 Astra some years ago .
The ride was harsher (that wouldnt matter in a van) but it firmed up the back end quite well for trailer towing
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

Somewhere on here somebody wrote that the spring assisters were a no-no on the rear as they affected the operation of the brake-load sensing-valve and I suppose this makes sense.

Makes a lot of sense.
Also Ive just had another peek and there's an enormous orange rubber 'phallis' right down the centre of the spring -the bump stop.
The assisters would easily foul this.
Ive been looking at uprated aftermarket springs but the y all seem to be meant to lower the carSad
It is on my to do list.
