Looking to buy my first vehicle with DPF (1.6 HDI 90). Hopefully my driving type will allow for regeneration often enough, but even with regeneration how long does a DFP last? From what I read it still builds up deposits that need to be washed out by high pressure water after a time??

How many miles does the additive last, and how much should I expect to pay for a topup.

I dont know how much it costs to refill, but it should last 100,000 miles.

A figure of around £600 ( Using Citroen main dealer) was being bandied about a while back.
I'm talking to my repairer today so I'll find out. HTH :-)

What is this nonsense, sounds a bit like Homoeopathy for cars? I think I will top mine up with diesel before it runs out.

1 litre lasts 100,000 miles??? that would work out at 1/100th of a ml per mile, or if we assume 50mpg that would be mixed in at a rate of 1ml for every 2 gallons that would be about a ratio of 1:9000

Ad if it really costs £600, then that would be about double the cost of a new DPF - they're taking the p!ss or at least selling it to us.

Yes!! If it's post late 2006 all Citroens with the 1.6HDi engine have them.

Thought i had read on here that the 90bhp in the mk3 doesnt have a dpf.

Hope not or it will be got rid off.

I think it is: Euro 4 engines only the 110 bhp version has a DPF and all the Euro 5 engines have a DPF

Mine has a cat but no DPF & it's a 57 HDi

I dont think that it injects all the time, which is why it lasts a long time? Dunno what triggers it.....
