Which roof bars?

Hi folks, Ive just bought a multispace desire with factory fitted roof rails and i need roof bars to fit them. Ive had a look on ebay but im not sure if the ones ive looked at will fit the rails or not, the rails have little sort of brackets on the underside of them, theyre about an inch or two long and are located at the end of the rails near their mounting bracket. Does anyone have these rails and already fitted bars to them or know where i can get bars to fit?
I need the bars to carry a set of ladders.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Strongly suggest you don't use the built in bars to carry ladders! Use the six tabs on the main roof to attach a separate pair of bars. This avoids any risk of straining the seal around the glass roof structure - if that starts leaking it's bad news.

Quite a few decent roof bar sets come up on ebay - search for both Partner and Berlingo (pre-2008) as they're the same thing :-). Post 2008 is a different design which won't fit.

Don't use the Modutop roof bars for anything heavier than a packet of biscuits!! I don't even take mine through an automatic car wash.
Pete is spot on....get a pair of bars that fit to the provided bar mounts. HTH

Thanks guys, are the rails on the modutop easily removed? if so am i better doing this prior to fixing roof bars to the existing mounting brackets on the body of the car or are there bars available which have enough distance to clear the rails when they are in place?

Yup easy to remove the Modutop rails - just a screw at each end - ISTR there should be a key in the Modutop rear compartment. Think it may be a Torx head on the securing screws.

But for most bars you won't need to - certainly my AIKO ones have plenty of clearance, so just leave the modutop ones in place. The 'genuine Citroen' bars do require the Modutop ones to be removed but I wouldn't recommend those anyway, see first thread linked above.

Thanks shedpete, just orderes aiko ones on phone and get them tomorrow, guy says there's about 80 mm from bottom of fixing bracket to bottom of cross bar so hopefully this should be enough. Thanks again!
