tacho not working

hi there, i have just purchased a berlingo 2000 model with 1.4ltr.
and the tacho doesnt work, has anyone got a wiring diagram or any experience on what it could be.

Im new to all this, but other are helping me with my problems so i shall try.

possible reasons (i think)
1- BSI unit fault
2- Instrument panel fault
3- crankcase/flywheel sensor

and all associated fuses and wiring connected to all/ether of the above.

Unfortunately i have no idea how to test which is to blame. hopefully someone will be along soon to help.

Ok thanks .I'm picking the car up in a couple of hours. So I will looki into it.
If any1 has a wiring diagram or how to test the cluster etc
