Got to my car this morning to find that water had leaked through the modutop onto the little stubby column with audio controls. The volume would go to climb to earsplittingly loud (30 on the screen), though it has now stopped this trick.
Now none of the controls on the column work, although the rest of the radio controls work fine.
Is there a seperate fuse for the column buttons etc or is it likely to be terminal for these extra controls?
Thanks with ringing ears
Jim

You're probably onto this already but I'd direct a blast from one of the heating vents at it for the next few times you go driving to attempt to dry it out - you might get lucky once all traces of moisture have been driven out.
Otherwise ISTR that it's all part of the COM2000 assembly (along with all of the other stalks etc) which isn't particularly cheap to replace sadly (not 100% sure it can't be replaced separately though).

Does anyone know how it comes apart?
I've looked for screws etc to try and get the cover off to let the air in, but can't see any.

There are three screw fittings - two adjacent to the steering wheel, one at the other end of the cowling. All accessed from beneath and all very well recessed - from memory they might well be Torx headed as well

~It's a sort of snap fit. There's a lug that you need to depress to allow it to slide out - sorry but I can't remember exactly where it is
