Supermarket Diesel - use Millers/Wynns or avoid 1.6HDI
#1
I usually use supermarket diesel. As I understand it supermarket fuel comes from the same source, but the additive package is different depending who the fuel is destined for.

Wynns make a product called Superium Diesel http://www.wynns.uk.com/Product.aspx?p=2...ONS_DIESEL
that claims to upgrade regular diesel fuel additive to premium fuel additives. Has anyone tried this?

Is just over 2p/ltr, so makes supermarket fuel about the same price as non supermarket fuel - but about 5p/ltr less than "premium diesel"

Millers Ecomax seems to have some followers also,

Citroen (as with every other manufacturers) do not recommend the use of any additives whatsoever, however most dealers try to sell you a fuel treatment when you go in for service.

This old chesnut again... Confusedillyme:
All diesel comes from the same place. It's diesel.
'Branded' diesel has additives in.
Supermarket diesel has less additives in.
'Branded' diesel is more expensive.
Supermarket diesel is less expensive.
Take your pick. :woop:
