Steering column U/J
#1
Has any one experience of replacing the universal joint at the bottom of the steering column where it connects with the steering rack.
Is this a main dealer part only, I can't see any listed on the web.

Ask a dealer if it's available,& ask to see the picture(this is my sneaky way of seeing how it is fitted). It should be available & are generally straightforward,if time consuming,to fit.
Good luck & let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the replies £54 not too bad for a main dealer part. Frustratingly the grease in the U/J has dried out, I've temporarily sorted the problem by lubricating the joint, but I will have to bite the bullet and replace it. The parts diagram is a big help.

Thanks for the diagram coco, it was good timing for me as I'm looking at moving the steering column to the right if I can in an attempt to have the steering wheel centralised to my body, currently offset to the centre of the vehicle. I have gained some benefit from relocating the seats but need just that little bit more to finish the job.
Your diagram will save me stripping off the covers just to look.
