In the modutop rear compartment there is a small Torx key that fits into the recessed screws

xtr and model year quoted don't compute.
2006 would be a second generation 'lingo. Trim with fitted bars that were detachable or capable of being altered to transverse was Desire?
XTR is third gen; 2008 on.

I had a 56 plate Mk2 XTR with factory fitted roof rails which ran along the length of the roof, not the glass roof with the moveable rails which were fitted to Desire models.
Surely the question is how to remove these factory fitted roof rails.
Similar rails are fitted to current XTR models.
