Fobbed off !!
#1
Bought my 09 XTR Berlingo a few weeks back from a Citroen dealer.
One of the fobs wasn't working so they ordered me a new one. A week or so later I was called and went for the new fob and after an hours wait to code the fob I was handed a plain key!!
My question is, are these plain keys coded in some way, the bloke behind the desk assured me they are. I'm no better off really and I'm fighting them for a remote type as promised. Can anyone advise please.

My Mk2 came with one remote and one ordinary key.
Both have to be coded to allow the immobilizer to work.

The vehicle is originally supplied with a remote control fob. What is the dealers problem??
If there's a problem with the remote control's transducer in the vehicle then he should
have made that plain to you at the time of purchase.
What response did you get when you asked why the new fob couldn't be coded?
Maybe the fob was coded correctly and then they discovered that it still wouldn't work.
The Older I get the Better I Was!  Cool

Hi Jeffers, one of my fobs works ok. If they are coded then I guess the code in the one that doesn't open /lock the doors is ok as it works in the ignition no probs. It must be the transmitter side of the PCB
thats u/ s as the battery is ok but nowt happens when the buttons are pressed. I'm just whinging because I wanted a like for like replacement. I will let you know how I get on. They're taking the you know what at the mo!

Bit confused? Confusedcratch:
Have you got one working remote fob and the dealer has given you an ordinary 'coded' plain key?
If so, that is correct, they only come with one remote fob.
If your remote fob has been replaced with a second 'ordinary' key, then poke the dealer in the eye with it.
