Headlight Bulbs

Hi
Has any one upgraded Mk1 headlight bulbs, got one blown so thought good excuse to find better & brighter. headlights on my 807 well good and very white/blue light don't know what they are though. loads on ebay anyone tried them?

Big thankyou to Merlecollins for the ebay link gonna order them in a minute, they look good and being Osram should last.
All I need now for night driving is some 20 year younger eyes!

Just make sure that that link is OK for a MK1 as I have a MK2 and that was the link I used. :thumbsup:

I'm pretty certain (and someone else may confirm) that the bulb fitments are the same on both vans anyway, but would be happier if you made sure

Nightbreaker Plus are nice looking, very bright bulbs, but...
They DON'T last very long!
Mine did about 9 months, and that wasn't through the winter.
Others on here have had similar problems.

Mine lasted 18 months but l have my lights turn on whenever I start the car.

Just get some 100W generic 'ultra white xenon' bulbs from eBay, I've used the companies Redline and Xenons_UK [actually the same trader] extensively over the years fitting their bulbs to my cars without issue and with good longevity.

Although the new up and coming technology is HOD bulbs [not to be confised to HID]. These are standard fit, don't require ignitors or ballast resistors, and are MOT compliant, unlike some HID kits. Not cheap though!

Nightbreaker Plus last longer than the original Nightbreaker, but still only 150 - 250 hours.
Had some 'ordinary' standard Ring Automotive headlight bulbs in my Clio that lasted about 6 years.
Osram won't last as long due to their properties and construction, you don't get the bright white light and longevity, it's a compromise.

Will the 100w bulbs create any wiring/fuse/relay issues, as they will draw 8+ amps as opposed to a 'standard' bulb which draws about 4.5 amps?
