Hallo!
#1
Hi all! Just found the forum. I live in Essex & I'm on my second Berlingo, a silver XTR 110hdi bought in March last yr & now done 20k miles without any probs. I wanted a VTR 90hdi with aircon in same red as my previous '05 1.9diesel but they could not give me a delivery date from the factory.

I think at the time all makes were trying to shift existing stock at good discount & wern't really interested in customers who wanted a spec that was not already parked in the compound. So I settled for the XTR(aircon as standard)from stock & had the car on the road a few days later at the start of the 09 plate. I do about 10-12k miles P.A & I'm hoping for 8-10yrs out of this one. I notice the cambelt change interval has been increased to 160k miles!

I'm certainly happy with the car, fuel consumption is now about 50mpg if I keep just under 70 & seat is firm, excellent for my dodgy back. I like how, on both current & older Berlingos you just 'get in' & not 'down into' the car.

Minor niggles have been just peeling XTR badges on the windows, now replaced, but I think badges on glass is a bad idea, I notice the Peugeot version does not have them.

I do sometimes miss my red '05. The new one don't really have the 'cute' factor of the old one & the old one was less 'tank like' but I don't really miss the 70bhp non turbo diesel, the £200pa road tax, no aircon & the slow uphills.

Gawd! don't I ramble on? Nice to be here on a UK Berlingo forum, the only other Berlingo forum is German, I think. Cool

You talk a lot of sense, im sure others will associate with some of the things you have said!

The Vauxhall Combo is terrible for getting 'down' into it, it's awful. The Berlingo seating position is nicely aligned, high enough.

You are right about the other Berlingo Forum, (http://www.berlingo.org), i didn't know that existed until yesterday(!). But hopefully we will be able to start attracting members.

Anyway, nice to meet you. Any reason for the name Opensauce? (>> OpenSource?)

Thanks!

And that is pretty tough, especially when trying to remember the username & password combintation on that tenting forum you joined back in March Tongue

Nice to meet you anyway. I have good hopes for this place, just need to hold tight and let it settle on the internet i guess.
