recently returned to my vehicle after a break, I'd left the key in the ignition (isle of man) and when I touched the handle the doors all locked.
After much searching I found a wire coat hanger and got in the old skool way. Why did they lock by themselves?
ps, I now have a spare key attached just in case it does it again.

Mine does it too-if you unlock with the fob and dont open the door for a while it relocks.

The door relocks a minute or so after unlocking with fob as a security measure in order prevent car remaining unlocked in case of fob being inadvertently pressed near to car. Provided door is opened after clicking fob then door will not relock itself. The op's problem sounds like an electrical fault.
