My Mk3 has started to make a knock/vibration as the engine is switched off. Putting the clutch down etc, makes no difference. it is only as the engine gets up to speed/slows down to stop. Any suggestions of what to check? Could it be DMF or harmonic balancer pulley?

The rear lower engine mounts occasionally come slightly loose, I would check this for tightness first. It may only tighten a fraction, but you would be surprised how much noise can come from it .

Have a look at the heat shield at the front around the cat I think. Mine had cracked on 1 mounting at the top allowing another to rattle about and its suprising the din it can make. Had to replace top part (28 quid for bent bit of tin) and made 2 brackets on the bottom to brace it properly.
Are we there yet?????
